Christian Darrisaw (born June 2, 1999) is an American professional football player. He plays as an offensive tackle for the Minnesota Vikings in the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Virginia Tech Hokies before joining the NFL. The Vikings chose him in the first round of the 2021 NFL draft.

Early Life and College Football Journey
Growing Up and High School Football
Christian Darrisaw was born on June 2, 1999, in Petersburg, Virginia. He went to Riverdale Baptist School in Upper Marlboro, Maryland. There, he played left tackle for his high school football team.
Playing for the Virginia Tech Hokies
After high school, Christian committed to play college football for the Virginia Tech Hokies. This was the only offer he received from a top-level college football program (NCAA FBS). Before joining Virginia Tech, he attended Fork Union Military Academy for academic reasons.
Christian rejoined Virginia Tech in 2018. He quickly became a starter at left tackle for the Hokies. He started every game during the 2019 and 2020 seasons. In 2020, he was named to the first-team All-Atlantic Coast Conference team. This showed he was one of the best players in his college league.

Joining the Minnesota Vikings
After his successful college career in 2020, Christian Darrisaw decided to enter the 2021 NFL draft. The NFL draft is where professional teams choose new players from college. The Minnesota Vikings picked him in the first round, as the 23rd player overall.
On May 14, 2021, Christian signed his first professional contract with the Vikings. It was a four-year deal.
Playing for the Vikings
Christian missed the first four games of his first season due to a groin injury. Even so, he played in 12 games and started 10 of them as a rookie. In the 2022 season, he played and started 14 games. He continued to be a key player, starting 15 games in the 2023 season.
On April 29, 2024, the Vikings showed their confidence in Christian. They picked up the fifth-year option on his contract. This meant they wanted to keep him for another year. Then, on July 23, 2024, Christian and the Vikings agreed to a big new contract. It was a four-year extension worth up to $113 million.
In Week 8 of the 2024 NFL season, Christian Darrisaw got a knee injury. This happened during a game between the Vikings and the Los Angeles Rams. The next day, it was announced that he would not be able to play for the rest of the season.
