Christian Kane is an American actor and singer-songwriter. He is well-known for his roles in popular TV shows like Angel, Leverage, and The Librarians. He has also appeared in movies such as Just Married and Secondhand Lions.
Besides acting, Christian Kane is the lead singer of the country-southern rock band called Kane. Their album, The House Rules, reached number 25 on the Billboard Country Albums chart.

Early life and background
Christian Kane has shared that he has Cherokee (Native American) family roots. His parents met at a rodeo, and his family moved often because his father worked in the oil business. They finally settled in Norman, Oklahoma, when Christian was in eighth grade.
Growing up in Texas and Oklahoma, he was a talented wrestler and played football as a strong safety. He studied art history at the University of Oklahoma. However, he decided he wanted to be an actor and moved to Los Angeles before finishing his degree. In Los Angeles, he worked for a company that managed actors. He would deliver scripts and, in return, he got chances to audition for acting jobs.
Acting career
Christian Kane got his first acting job in 1997. He played a country singer in the TV series Fame L.A.. He then had a regular role in Joss Whedon’s show Angel as the lawyer Lindsey MacDonald. He also appeared in the TV movie Crossfire Trail with Tom Selleck. In 2005, he was in the miniseries Into the West, produced by Steven Spielberg.
On the big screen, Kane appeared in the movie Just Married and Secondhand Lions. In Secondhand Lions, he played a younger version of the character Hub McCann. He even got a scar on his upper lip while filming that movie! He also acted in Taxi and Friday Night Lights.
In 2007, he was featured in Carrie Underwood's music video "So Small." Later, he starred in the thriller Hide (2008) and The Donner Party (2009).
From 2008 to 2012, Kane starred in the TNT series Leverage. He played Eliot Spencer, a skilled fighter who helped a team fight against injustice. Christian Kane did all his own fight scenes and even helped plan them for the show! He continues to play Eliot Spencer in the spin-off series Leverage: Redemption, which started in 2021.
From 2014 to 2018, he co-starred with Rebecca Romijn in The Librarians. In this show, he played Jacob Stone, a smart and strong character who helped protect magical artifacts. In 2020, he took on the lead role of Alex Walker in the drama series Almost Paradise.
Music career
Christian Kane is the lead singer and guitarist for his band, Kane. The band also includes Carlson (rhythm guitar), Jason Southard (lead guitar), Will Amend (bass), and Ryan Baker (drums). Their album, The House Rules, was released in 2010. It quickly became popular, reaching number 1 on the Billboard Heatseekers album chart and number 25 on the Country Albums chart.
The first song from the album, "The House Rules," was also a hit. Its music video was directed by Timothy Hutton. The song was even featured in the video game NASCAR 09. Another song, "Let Me Go," also had a popular music video.
Christian Kane has also written songs for other artists. For example, Trace Adkins released a song called "Happy Man" that Kane helped write. One of his co-written songs, "Thinking of You," was even used in an episode of his TV show Leverage.
