Christina Vukicevic Demidov is a former Norwegian athlete. She was a talented hurdler, which means she ran races over barriers. Christina represented the Ski IL club. Her father, Petar Vukičević, coached her. He was also a hurdler who competed in the 1980 Summer Olympics. Christina's brother, Vladimir Vukicevic, is also a hurdler.

Christina's Athletics Career
Christina started her international career early. She won her first big medal in 2003. This was a gold medal in the 100 metres hurdles. She won it at the 2003 European Youth Summer Olympic Festival in Paris.
Junior and Early Senior Years
In 2004, Christina finished fifth at the 2004 World Junior Championships in Athletics. The next year, she won a silver medal. This was at the 2005 European Athletics Junior Championships in Kaunas. She had to take a break in 2005 because of a knee injury. After surgery, she returned to compete.
At the 2006 World Junior Championships, she won another silver medal. Her time was 13.34 seconds, which was a new national junior record. Christina made her debut in senior international events in 2007. She ran her personal best time of 13.07 seconds in the heats at the 2007 World Championships in Athletics. She was the Norwegian champion in hurdles from 2004 to 2008.
Reaching New Heights
Christina continued to improve her personal best time. In 2008, she ran 13.05 seconds at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing. For the 60 metres hurdles, her best time was 8.03 seconds. She achieved this at a meeting in Düsseldorf in 2008.
In 2009, she just missed a medal at the 2009 European Indoor Championships. She finished in fourth place. Later that year, she won her first international gold medal. This was at the 2009 European Athletics U23 Championships in Kaunas. Her winning time was 12.99 seconds. She then lowered her best time to 12.74 seconds in Hengelo. Christina competed at the 2009 World Championships in Athletics. She reached the semifinals, running 13.00 seconds.
Setting Records and Retirement
Christina started the 2010 season very strong. She set a new Norwegian record in the 60 metres hurdles. Her time was 7.94 seconds. She almost made it to the final at the 2010 IAAF World Indoor Championships. At the 2010 European Team Championships, she won a bronze medal. She finished fourth at the 2010 European Athletics Championships. Her best time that season was 12.78 seconds.
Her 2011 season also began with a new national record. She ran the 60 metres hurdles in 7.92 seconds. She improved this even more to 7.90 seconds in February. Christina aimed for a medal at the 2011 European Athletics Indoor Championships. She won a bronze medal there, which was a great achievement.
Christina Vukicevic announced her retirement from athletics on February 29, 2016. She had not competed since 2012 due to an injury. Since 2021, she has worked as a commentator for the Norwegian public broadcaster NRK.
Christina's Family Life
Christina was born and grew up in Drøbak, Norway. Her father, Petar Vukičević, is a professional hurdler and coach from Serbia. Her mother is half-Norwegian and half-Serbian. Christina grew up with her younger brother, Vladimir Vukicevic. She also has two younger half-siblings.
Christina is married to the Norwegian footballer, Vadim Demidov. They live in Bærum. In 2016, she shared that she was expecting a child with Vadim. This was also when she announced her retirement from professional sports.
