Christopher Judge is an American actor and voice actor. He is famous for playing Teal'c in the TV show Stargate SG-1. He is also well-known for being the voice of Kratos in the popular God of War video game series, starting with the 2018 game. Before becoming an actor, he played football at the University of Oregon.

Early Life and Football
Christopher Judge always wanted to be an actor from a young age. He studied drama while he was in high school. He said that watching TV made him want to create those same feelings in other people. He also knew that sports could help him reach his acting dreams.
Judge earned a scholarship to the University of Oregon for football. He played as a defensive back and safety for the Oregon Ducks from 1982 to 1985. He was a great player, leading his team in kickoff returns in 1983-84 and in interceptions in 1984. He even won an award called the Casanova Award in 1982, which is given to the best freshman player. In 1984, he was chosen for the Pacific-10 Conference team.
During his time in Oregon, Judge won a contest to host a radio show. In his last year of college, he won another contest to host a TV show called the West Coast FOX KLSR Morning Show. He used this experience to get an agent and move back to Los Angeles to start his acting career.
Acting Career
In 1989, Christopher Judge began studying acting in Los Angeles. In the early 1990s, he appeared in shows like MacGyver. On that show, he worked with Richard Dean Anderson, who would later become his co-star in Stargate SG-1. He also had small roles in other TV shows such as The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. From 1994 to 1995, he was a regular on the show Sirens.
His biggest role came in 1997 when he joined Stargate SG-1. He heard about the audition by chance and insisted his agent get him a tryout. He felt confident he got the part of Teal'c because he was the only actor asked to stay after the audition. He played Teal'c for all ten seasons of the show.
After Stargate SG-1, Judge made guest appearances on shows like Andromeda, Stargate Atlantis, and NCIS: Los Angeles. He also appeared in movies such as Snow Dogs and The Dark Knight Rises.
Voice Acting and Writing
Christopher Judge has also lent his voice to many animated shows and video games. He voiced Magneto in the cartoon X-Men: Evolution. He also voiced Zodak in He-Man and the Masters of the Universe.
In video games, he voiced D-Mob in Def Jam Vendetta and Def Jam: Fight for NY. His most famous voice role is Kratos in the God of War video game from 2018. He took over the role from another actor and quickly became a fan favorite. He played Kratos again in the sequel, God of War Ragnarök.
Besides acting, Judge also wrote four episodes of Stargate SG-1. These episodes include "The Warrior" and "The Changeling".
Personal Life and Awards
Christopher Judge supports the Boys & Girls Clubs of Canada. He also enjoys playing golf.
His sons, Cameron and Christopher Jordan, are both professional Canadian football players. They both played college football before being drafted into the CFL.
In 2019, Judge shared that he had to have surgery on both of his hips, as well as back and knee surgery.
Judge has won several awards for his acting. In 2002, he was nominated for a Saturn Award for his role in Stargate SG-1. He has won multiple D.I.C.E. Awards for his amazing performance as Kratos in the God of War games. In 2023, he won the British Academy Games Award for Performer in a Leading Role for God of War Ragnarök. He also won the Best Performance award at The Game Awards in 2022 for the same role.
