Transportation in Clayton
Getting around Clayton is easy with several main roads. Delaware Route 6 is the main road that goes through the town, called Main Street. It connects Clayton to nearby towns like Blackiston and Smyrna.
Delaware Route 300 also passes through the southern part of town. It links Clayton to Kenton and Smyrna. Delaware Route 15 goes through the western part of Clayton, heading north towards Middletown.
Besides roads, a train line called the Delmarva Subdivision runs through Clayton. This line is used by the Delmarva Central Railroad and connects with the Norfolk Southern Railway in town.
Utilities and Services
Clayton's Public Works department helps provide important services to the town. They supply electricity to about 1,200 homes and businesses. The town is part of a group called the Delaware Municipal Electric Corporation, which helps get electricity to many towns in Delaware.
