The Journey of Clear Creek
Where Clear Creek Begins
Clear Creek starts its journey in a place called Clear Lake. This lake is found near Granite Pass, deep inside the Boulder River Wilderness. It's a wild and beautiful area!
Flowing Through the Wilderness
At first, the creek flows a short distance to the east. But soon, it makes a turn and starts heading north. After flowing north for about 1.3 miles (2.1 km), Clear Creek meets another important stream. This stream is called Copper Creek, and it joins Clear Creek, making it bigger.
Meeting More Streams and Waterfalls
After Copper Creek joins, Clear Creek turns and flows towards the northeast for about 3.9 miles (6.3 km). Then, it turns north again. This is where it meets another major stream, Helena Creek. Just before Helena Creek joins, the water of Clear Creek tumbles down a beautiful spot called Asbestos Falls.
Right after Helena Creek joins, a tiny stream called Asbestos Creek also adds its water to Clear Creek. Asbestos Creek has its own tall waterfall, Asbestos Creek Falls, just before it reaches Clear Creek.
Reaching the Sauk River
From there, Clear Creek continues flowing north for about 2 miles. Just before it reaches its final destination, another stream called Burns Creek joins in. Finally, Clear Creek flows into the larger Sauk River, completing its journey.
