Coal Hill is found in the southwestern part of Johnson County. A main road, U.S. Highway 64, goes right through the middle of town. If you head east on this highway for about 12 miles, you'll reach Clarksville. Clarksville is the main city for Johnson County. If you go west for about 10 miles, you'll arrive in Ozark.
Another road, Arkansas Highway 164, starts from the east side of Coal Hill and goes north. After about 4 miles, it connects to Interstate 40 at Exit 47.
