The Coat of arms of Romania is a special symbol for the country. It was chosen by the Romanian Parliament on September 10, 1992. The design for this coat of arms comes from an older one used by the Kingdom of Romania in 1922.
The main part of the coat of arms shows a golden eagle. This eagle is holding a cross in its beak. It also holds a mace (a type of club) and a sword in its claws. The colors used in the coat of arms are red, yellow, and blue. These are the same three colors found on the Flag of Romania.
