Jacoba Francisca Maria "Cobie" Smulders (born April 3, 1982) is a Canadian actress. She is famous for playing Robin Scherbatsky in the TV show How I Met Your Mother (2005–2014). She is also well-known for her role as S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Maria Hill in the exciting Marvel Cinematic Universe superhero movies, starting with The Avengers in 2012.
Cobie Smulders has appeared in many other films like Safe Haven (2013) and the The Lego Movie series (2014–2019). She also starred in TV shows such as A Series of Unfortunate Events (2017) and Stumptown (2019–2020). In 2010, she made her first appearance in a theater play called Love, Loss, and What I Wore.

Cobie Smulders was born in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Her father is from the Netherlands, and her mother is British. She grew up in White Rock, British Columbia. She got the nickname "Cobie" from her great-aunt, whose name was Jacoba.

Cobie Smulders is married to actor Taran Killam. They met at a friend's party and got engaged in 2009. They married on September 8, 2012, and have two daughters together.
In 2015, Cobie shared that she faced a health challenge when she was 25 years old. She had surgery and multiple operations over two years. By 2019, she announced that she was in remission, meaning the health challenge was under control.
In 2020, Cobie became an American citizen, but she also kept her Canadian citizenship. She said that the 2020 presidential election in the United States was part of her reason for becoming a citizen. She is also a big fan of the Vancouver Canucks, a hockey team.
Charity Work
Cobie Smulders cares about protecting the environment. In 2014, she filmed a public service announcement for Oceana, an organization that works to save our oceans.
