Cobquecura is a town and commune in Chile. It is located in the Ñuble Region, specifically in the Itata Province. This area is on the northwest Pacific coast. Cobquecura is about 420 kilometers (260 miles) southwest of Santiago, Chile's capital city.

How Many People Live Here?
In 2002, a special count of people called a census was done. It showed that Cobquecura had 5,687 residents. More men lived there (3,032) than women (2,655).
Town vs. Countryside Living
The census also told us where people lived. About 1,493 people (26.3%) lived in the main town area. The rest, 4,194 people (73.7%), lived in the countryside. This means most people in Cobquecura live in rural areas. The total area of Cobquecura is about 570 square kilometers (220 square miles).

He earned a special degree (PhD) from the Complutense University of Madrid. He was also a member of the Chilean Academy of Language, which works to protect and study the Spanish language in Chile.
