Coburg is a small city in Lane County, Oregon, United States. It is located about 8 miles (13 km) north of Eugene. In 2020, about 1,306 people lived there.
Coburg was founded in 1847. It has kept its small-town feel. People can easily walk around, and it has strong ties to the farms nearby. The city works to keep these qualities.

History of Coburg
The city was first called Diamond. This name came from John Diamond, an early settler who owned land there.
The city's current name, Coburg, comes from a special horse. This horse was a stallion imported from the Coburg region in Bavaria, Germany.
The historic part of Coburg is very important. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1986. Many of the buildings in this area date back to 1875.
From 2011 to 2015, the city built a new sewer system. This helped Coburg grow with new homes and businesses.
Economy and Businesses
Coburg's downtown area is a national historic center. It has 30 buildings that are on the historic register. The city is known for its pretty downtown, its links to farming businesses, and its many antique shops.
Every year, Coburg hosts an antique fair. Since 2018, it has also been the home of the Pacific Northwest Marathon race. Several companies have factories along the I-5 highway in Coburg.

Marathon Coach Corporation has its main office in Coburg. This company builds very fancy motorcoaches, which are like luxury homes on wheels. Marathon Coach has a factory in Coburg. They also have other factories in Texas and Florida. Another business in Coburg is APEL Extrusions.
City Funding Changes
For some years, Coburg used to get a lot of money for its budget from traffic tickets. This happened on Interstate 5 near the city. By 2003, almost half of the city's yearly budget came from these tickets.
In 2005, this practice stopped. A state law was passed to prevent cities from doing this outside their limits. Later, Coburg officially added that part of I-5 to its city limits. This allowed the city to continue getting money from traffic enforcement within its new boundaries.
