Code of the Samurai (Code of the Samurai, Shinsengumi Gunrou Den, harf. The Legend of Shinsengumi) is an exciting hack & slash video game made for the PlayStation 2 console. It was first released in Japan in 2005. Later, it came out in Europe in 2007.

This game was developed by Red Entertainment. In Japan, Sega published it. For the European release, Midas Interactive Entertainment was the publisher.

Gameplay Overview

In Code of the Samurai, you get to play as two main characters: Soji Okita and Hijikata Toshizo. Your big mission is to fight and defeat bandits in the city of Kyoto.

When you play as Okita, you'll see an "insanity arrow" appear. This arrow helps you when you're fighting against tough enemies called ronin. You can also create special "gap attacks." These attacks can make your character's power grow stronger instantly!

The game also lets you choose different characters, and each one has unique strengths. For example, if you pick Harada Sanosuke Sanosuke Harada, his attack power will become much higher. However, his defense power might go down a bit. This means you have to think carefully about which character is best for each challenge!
