Cody Cooper Demps was born on December 2, 1993. He is an American professional basketball player. Cody currently plays for Hapoel Be'er Sheva in the Israeli Premier League. Before turning pro, he played college basketball for the Sacramento State Hornets.

Cody Demps grew up in Elk Grove, California. This is a suburb near Sacramento, California. He went to Pleasant Grove High School. Cody was a fantastic athlete in two different sports there.
Playing Basketball and Football
He was a forward in basketball. He was also the starting quarterback for the football team. In his senior year, Cody was great at football. He completed 67% of his passes. He threw for 1,794 yards and 22 touchdowns. He was even named the co-Offensive Player of the Year for his league.
In basketball, Cody averaged 15.6 points per game. The Sacramento Bee newspaper named him first team All-Metro. This means he was one of the best players in the area.
Cody's College Journey
Cody Demps played basketball for four seasons at Sacramento State. He was a starter for his last three years. In his final season, he averaged 12 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 4.7 assists per game.
He finished his college basketball career with impressive stats. He was tied for fourth in school history for games started (86). He was fifth in games played (114). He also ranked seventh in assists (286).
Switching to College Football
After his senior year, Cody was very close to graduating. He had only two classes left. He decided to turn down an offer to play basketball overseas. Starting with the G League
Cody signed with the Reno Bighorns on October 30, 2017. This team is part of the NBA G League. He joined them after a successful tryout. In his first professional season, Cody averaged 7.4 points and 5.5 rebounds per game.
After that season, Cody played for the Sacramento Kings in the NBA Summer League. He then returned to his G League team. The team had changed its name to the Stockton Kings. In his second season, he averaged 11.8 points, 4.8 rebounds, 3.3 assists, and 1.1 steals. He played in 50 games and started 42 of them.
A Short Time with the Sacramento Kings
The Sacramento Kings signed Cody Demps to a 10-day contract on March 22, 2019. The very next day, they sent him back to the Stockton Kings. He was called back to the main team after Stockton was out of the G League playoffs. However, his 10-day contract ended before he played in an NBA game.
After the season, Cody was invited to the 2019 G-League Elite Camp. This camp brings together top G League players and college players. Cody also played for the Indiana Pacers in the 2019 NBA Summer League. Later, he played in The Basketball Tournament for a team called Loyalty is Love.
Back to Stockton and New Teams
Cody returned to the Stockton Kings for the 2019–20 G League season. On November 26, 2019, he had a great game. He scored 29 points, grabbed seven rebounds, and made five assists. This helped his team win against the Canton Charge. Cody averaged 14.4 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 2.6 assists per game that season.
In 2021, Cody joined the NBA G League Ignite. This team helps young players get ready for the NBA. Cody was a veteran player there. His job was to help guide the younger prospects. He averaged 5.5 points and 2.6 rebounds per game with them.
Playing Overseas
On August 6, 2021, Cody signed with Hapoel Be'er Sheva. This team is in the Israeli Basketball Premier League. He played there for a season.
