Cody Cooper Demps (born December 2, 1993) is an American professional basketball player. He currently plays for Hapoel Be'er Sheva in Israel's top basketball league. Before becoming a pro, he played college basketball for the Sacramento State Hornets.

Cody Demps' Early Life and Sports
Cody Demps grew up in Elk Grove, California, near Sacramento, California. He went to Pleasant Grove High School. Cody was a talented athlete in two sports: basketball and football.
In basketball, he played as a forward. In football, he was the starting quarterback. As a senior, he was named a top offensive player in his football league. He also averaged 15.6 points per game in basketball.
College Basketball and Football Journey
Cody Demps played four seasons of college basketball for the Sacramento State Hornets. He was a starter for his last three years. In his senior year, he averaged 12 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 4.7 assists per game.
He finished his college basketball career as one of the top players in school history. He was tied for fourth in games started and fifth in total games played. He was also seventh in assists.
After his senior year, Cody was close to getting his college degree. He decided to try playing college football for the Hornets football team. He played as a wide receiver while finishing his studies. In his one season of college football, he caught 15 passes for 158 yards.
Cody Demps' Professional Basketball Career
Starting in the NBA G League
Cody Demps began his professional basketball career in the NBA G League. This league is like a development league for the NBA. On October 30, 2017, he signed with the Reno Bighorns. In his first season, he averaged 7.4 points and 5.5 rebounds per game.
After that season, Cody played for the Sacramento Kings in the NBA Summer League. He then returned to the G League team, which was now called the Stockton Kings. In his second season, he averaged 11.8 points, 4.8 rebounds, 3.3 assists, and 1.1 steals.
Brief Time with the Sacramento Kings
On March 22, 2019, the Sacramento Kings signed Cody Demps to a 10-day contract. This meant he had a chance to play in the NBA. The Kings sent him back to the Stockton Kings the next day. He was called back to the main team after the G League playoffs ended. However, his contract expired before he played in an NBA game.
After this, Cody was invited to a special camp for top G League players. He also played in the 2019 NBA Summer League for the Indiana Pacers. Later, he joined a team called Loyalty is Love for The Basketball Tournament.
Return to Stockton and NBA G League Ignite
Cody Demps went back to the Stockton Kings for the 2019–20 G League season. He had a great game on November 26, 2019, scoring 29 points. He averaged 14.4 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 2.6 assists per game that season.
In 2021, Cody signed with the NBA G League Ignite. This team helps young players get ready for the NBA. Cody joined as a veteran player to guide the younger talents. He averaged 5.5 points and 2.6 rebounds per game for the Ignite.
Playing Overseas: Israel and Taiwan
On August 6, 2021, Cody Demps signed with Hapoel Be'er Sheva in the Israeli Basketball Premier League. He played there for a season.
In February 2024, he signed with the New Taipei CTBC DEA in Taiwan's T1 League. He left the team in August of the same year.
Back to Israel
In October 2024, Cody Demps joined Elitzur Netanya in the Israeli Basketball Premier League. He then returned to Hapoel Be'er Sheva later in 2024.

Cody Demps' father, Chris Demps, also played sports in college. He played defensive end for the Sacramento State football team.
