Coleto Creek Reservoir is a large lake in Texas, created by a dam. It's located about 15 miles (24 km) southwest of Victoria. This lake stretches across parts of Victoria and Goliad counties.

The reservoir was built in 1980. Its main purpose is to help cool a power station that makes electricity. Coleto Creek Reservoir is also a popular spot for fun outdoor activities like fishing and boating.

Life in Coleto Creek Reservoir

This lake is home to many different kinds of fish. It has been stocked with fish to make it a great place for fishing. You can find fish like white bass, hybrid striped bass, catfish, and crappie. Other fish include sunfish, bluegill, and largemouth bass.

The lake also has various plants growing in and around it. These include cattail, pondweed, and American lotus. You might also see rushes and hydrilla plants.

The Guadalupe-Blanco River Authority manages a public park at the reservoir. This park offers many ways to enjoy the outdoors. It's a great place for boating and fishing.

At the park, you can find places to camp and picnic areas. There are also cabins if you want to stay overnight. A boat ramp makes it easy to get your boat into the water. For fishing, there's a 200-foot (61 m) long lighted fishing pier. If you like to walk, there's a 1.5-mile (2.4 km) hiking path. Restroom facilities are also available for visitors.
