Colin Buchanan (born 23 May 1964) is a popular Australian singer, songwriter, and entertainer. He plays many instruments and is known for his country, children's, and Christian music.

Colin's Early Life and Moves

Colin was born in Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland. When he was six years old, his family moved to Melbourne, Australia. Later, they moved to Peakhurst, Sydney. In 1988, Colin and his wife moved to the Australian outback. They lived in Bourke and Grenfell, New South Wales for a couple of years.

Colin's Music Career

Colin Buchanan has won many awards for his music. He has won ten Golden Guitar awards. These are big awards in Australian country music. He has also written songs with famous Australian country singers. Some of these include Lee Kernaghan and Adam Brand.

Popular Songs and Albums

One of his songs, "Hat Town," won an APRA Award. He wrote this song with Lee Kernaghan. Colin also made a Christmas album with Greg Champion. This album became very popular in Australia. His song "Aussie Jingle Bells" from that album is a favorite. Many schools perform it at their end-of-year concerts.

Colin has been nominated for several ARIA Awards. These awards celebrate excellence in Australian music. He was nominated for Best Country Album and Best Children's Album. He was also nominated for Best Comedy Release.

From 1992 to 1999, Colin was a regular presenter on ABC TV's Play School. This was a very popular children's show. He also appeared on Playhouse Disney.
