College Ward is a small, unincorporated community in Cache County, Utah, United States. This means it's a place where people live, but it doesn't have its own city government. It's located in the southern part of the beautiful Cache Valley. You can find it along U.S. Routes 89 and 91, right between the towns of Wellsville and Logan. Logan is the main city, or "county seat," for Cache County. The city of Nibley is also very close, just to the east.

A Look at College Ward's Past

The land where College Ward now stands was once a very large area, more than 9,000 acres! In 1877, a famous leader named Brigham Young gave this land to help start a school called Brigham Young College. He wanted the land to provide money for the college to grow and help students.

The first families to live here arrived in 1879. They didn't own the land right away. Instead, they leased, or rented, plots of land from the college. This is how the community of College Ward began, named after the college it helped support.
