Geography

Charters Towers Airport

The Charters Towers Airport is located in the western part of Columbia. It has two runways. The main runway is paved and is about 1,736 meters (5,695 feet) long.

This airport does not have a control tower. However, pilots can turn on the runway lights themselves when needed. The second runway at the airport is unpaved. Planes can also get fuel here.

Charters Towers Racecourse

In the southern part of Columbia, you will find the Charters Towers racecourse. This is a place where horse races are held. You can get to the racecourse from Hackett Terrace.

History

Dalrymple Trade Training Centre Opens
