Common green frog facts for kids
The common green frog, also known as the green paddy frog or greenbacked frog, is a type of frog with the scientific name Hylarana erythraea. You can find this frog in many parts of Asia, including Laos, Cambodia, Indonesia, Borneo, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Myanmar, Vietnam, and India. It also lives in the Philippines and Sulawesi because people brought it to these places. These frogs can live in hilly areas up to 1200 meters (about 4000 feet) above sea level.

About the Common Green Frog
The common green frog has some interesting features. Female frogs are usually larger than males. An adult female can grow to be about 7.8 centimeters (about 3 inches) long. Male frogs are smaller, reaching about 4.8 centimeters (about 1.9 inches) in length.
Colors and Patterns
These frogs can be different shades of green. Some are light green, while others are dark green. Their bellies are usually a lighter color. Interestingly, some of these frogs can even be blue! This is a type of natural variation called polymorphism, where different forms of the same species exist.
