Connie Fife (born August 27, 1961, died February 3, 2017) was a Canadian poet and editor. She was also a member of the Cree First Nation.
Connie wrote three books of poetry. She also helped put together several collections of writing by First Nations women. Her poems and stories were featured in many other books and magazines.
She was originally from Saskatchewan. She lived for a long time in Victoria, British Columbia. She also lived in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Toronto, Ontario, and Haines Junction, Yukon.

About Connie Fife's Work
Awards and Recognition
In 2000, Connie Fife received a special award. It was called the Prince and Princess Edward Prize in Aboriginal Literature. The Canada Council for the Arts gave this award to only four writers that year.
The judges who chose her for the award said her writing was "fearless." This means she was brave in what she wrote about.
From 1990 to 1992, Connie was a writer-in-residence at the En'owkin School of Writing in Penticton, British Columbia. This means she lived there and helped other writers. She also received a special scholarship to study creative writing in 1992.
Helping Others
Besides being a poet, Connie Fife also worked to help young people. She was an outreach worker for the Urban Native Youth Association. This organization is in Vancouver, British Columbia. She helped connect young Indigenous people with support and resources.
She also served on the jury for the Dayne Ogilvie Prize in 2014. This means she helped choose the winner of a writing award.
