Connor Ryan Swindells (born 19 September 1996) is an English actor and model. He is best known for playing Adam Groff in the Netflix comedy-drama series ... Education (2019–2023).

Swindells has also starred in the BBC One war drama SAS: Rogue Heroes since 2022. He has appeared in several movies, including Emma (2020) and Barbie (2023).

Early Life and Background

Connor Ryan Swindells was born in Lewes, East Sussex, England. He is the youngest of four brothers. His mother, who was of Romani heritage, sadly passed away from bowel cancer when Connor was seven. He has said this was a very difficult experience for him.

After his mother's death, Connor and his father lived with his grandparents in West Sussex. He went to Rydon Community College and later Steyning Grammar School. He left college when he was 17 years old.

Acting Career

How It All Started

Connor's acting career began by chance. A friend dared him to audition for a local play after they saw a poster for it. He got the main part! After that, he acted in two more local plays. An agent saw him in his third play and signed him.

First Roles on Screen

In 2017, Swindells appeared in the historical drama Jamestown. The next year, he starred in the drama film VS. as a character named Adam.

His first major movie role was in The Vanishing (2018). He acted alongside famous actors Gerard Butler and Peter Mullan.

Breakthrough with ... Education

In 2019, Swindells became famous for his role as Adam Groff in the Netflix series ... Education. He starred in the show with actors like Ncuti Gatwa, Emma Mackey, Asa Butterfield, and Gillian Anderson. The show was very popular and ran until 2023.

Recent Work

After his success, Swindells appeared in more movies and TV shows. He was in the film Emma (2020) and the BBC One crime drama Vigil (2021).
