However, life was still difficult there. So, they moved to Quebec, Canada, as political refugees. This means they sought safety in Canada because of the situation in their home country.

In 2001, he joined a pop band called One Ton. They signed with Warner Music. In 2003, his band won the Canadian Dance Music Award (SOCAN) for their electro-dance song "Super... World." Tapia de Veer was the producer for this album.

Early TV Series Scores

He then composed for the Channel 4 thriller Utopia. For this, he won a Royal Television Society Craft & Design Award in 2013. The judges said his music felt like it was "being played inside your head." He won another award for the second season of Utopia in 2015.

In 2014, he scored the TV show Série noire in Canada. He won two Prix Gémeaux awards for his music on this show, both in 2014 and 2016. He also worked on BBC's Jamaica Inn and the first season of Humans.

He composed music for BBC America's Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency in 2016. Later, he worked on two episodes of the Amazon Prime series Philip K. Dick's Electric Dreams. For one of these episodes, he was nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award. He also scored an episode of Netflix's Black Mirror called "Black Museum."
