Crystal Marie Reed (born February 6, 1985) is an American actress. She is best known for her role as Allison Argent in the TV show Teen Wolf (2011–2014). She left the show after the third season. Later, she returned for a guest role as Allison's ancestor, Marie-Jeanne Valet. Crystal Reed also played Allison Argent again in the movie Teen Wolf: The Movie (2023).
Reed also starred as Sofia Falcone in the fourth season of Gotham (2017–2018). She played the main character, Abby Arcane, in the series Swamp Thing (2019). Her films include Skyline (2010), Crush (2013), Too Late (2015), and Ghostland (2018).

Early Life and Education
Crystal Reed was born and grew up in Detroit, Michigan. Her parents have Polish and Native American backgrounds. She was raised in a Catholic family. She also mentioned attending a Baptist church, which she did not enjoy.
She finished high school at Roseville High School in 2003. Crystal loved dance from a young age and was a dance captain in high school. She was very active in her local community theater. There, she performed in musicals like Annie, Fiddler on the Roof, and Grease.
Reed went to Wayne State University and joined their Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) program. However, she decided to leave the program. She felt it was too strict about acting methods. She wondered if a degree was truly needed to be an artist. After leaving, she moved to Chicago. She acted in several local plays there. In December 2008, she moved to Hollywood to start her acting career in movies and TV.

In 2010, Crystal Reed appeared as a guest star in several popular TV shows. These included CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, CSI: NY, Rizzoli & Isles, and The Hard Times of RJ Berger.
Starring in Teen Wolf

Crystal Reed became very well-known for playing Allison Argent in the MTV series Teen Wolf. Before the third season, Reed wanted to try new things in her acting career. She talked to the show's producer, Jeff Davis, who supported her choice.
Reed left Teen Wolf in March 2014. Her character, Allison Argent, died at the end of the third season. Reed also mentioned that she wanted to leave because of the age difference between her and her character. By the end of season three, Reed was 29 years old, but she was playing a 17-year-old.
She later returned for a special episode on February 23, 2016. In this episode, "The Maid of Gévaudan," she played Marie-Jeanne Valet. This character was the first Argent family werewolf hunter. While promoting her show Gotham, Reed said she would love to be part of a Teen Wolf reboot or spin-off.
Film Roles and Other TV Shows
Crystal Reed has also been in movies like Skyline and Crazy, Stupid, Love. She starred in the horror film Ghostland. This movie was written and directed by French filmmaker Pascal Laugier. It was first released in France on March 14, 2018.
On July 22, 2017, Reed was cast in the fourth season of the Fox TV series Gotham. She played Sofia Falcone, who is the daughter of Carmine Falcone. The fourth season of Gotham started on September 21, 2017. Crystal Reed was the first actress to play Sofia Falcone from the comic books in a TV show or movie.
On September 6, 2018, it was announced that Reed would star in the DC Universe TV series Swamp Thing. She played Abby Arcane. Abby is a smart doctor from the CDC. She goes back to her hometown in Louisiana to investigate a deadly swamp virus. Soon, she finds out the swamp has mysterious and scary secrets. Swamp Thing first aired on May 31, 2019.
In September 2021, it was announced that a Teen Wolf reunion movie was planned for Paramount+. Jeff Davis returned as a writer and producer. Most of the original cast, including Reed, were set to come back. The movie was released on January 26, 2023.
Personal Life
Crystal Reed was in a relationship with her Teen Wolf co-star Daniel Sharman. They dated from February 2012 to June 2013. In July 2013, Reed started dating TV presenter Darren McMullen. McMullen and Reed broke up in early 2019.
Reed has mentioned that she moved away from her hometown because it was "not accepting of things that I'm accepting of."
One of Crystal Reed's hobbies when she is not acting is golf.
