Curtis Jamall Brown (born September 24, 1988) is a former American football player. He played as a cornerback in the National Football League (NFL). Curtis Brown played college football for the Texas Longhorns. He helped his team reach the 2010 BCS National Championship game. The Pittsburgh Steelers picked him in the third round of the 2011 NFL draft. He played for them for three seasons. He also spent time with the New York Jets and Saskatchewan Roughriders.

Early Life and High School Football
Curtis Brown grew up in Gilmer, Texas. He played high school football there. He was a star player at both cornerback (CB) and wide receiver (WR). In 2004, when he was a sophomore, his team won a state championship. Many top recruiting websites rated him as a 5-star prospect. He decided to attend the University of Texas for college.
College Football Career
Curtis Brown played cornerback for the Texas Longhorns from 2007 to 2010.
Starting as a Freshman
He started playing in his first year, called his freshman year. He played in all 13 games that season. He helped the Longhorns win the Holiday Bowl.
Sophomore and Junior Years
In his second year (sophomore year), the Longhorns had a great season. They won 12 games and lost only one. They also won the Fiesta Bowl. In 2009, his junior year, Brown was recognized as an honorable mention All-Big 12 Conference player. The Longhorns won the Big 12 Championship that year. They went to the BCS Championship game. They lost this game to Alabama.
Senior Year and College Stats
In his final year (senior year), he was named to the 2nd team All-Big 12. He finished his college career with 105 tackles. He also forced two fumbles and blocked one punt. He had two interceptions, both of which he returned for long distances. One of these interceptions even resulted in a touchdown. After his senior year, he played in the 2010 Senior Bowl, which is a game for top college players.

Curtis Brown played for a few teams in the NFL and CFL.
Pittsburgh Steelers (2011–2013)
The Pittsburgh Steelers chose Curtis Brown in the 3rd round of the 2011 NFL draft. He was the 95th player picked overall. He played in 34 games over three seasons for the Steelers. However, he spent some time each season on the injured reserve list. The Steelers released him on March 5, 2014. This happened after he played in only seven games in his last season with them. He recorded seven tackles before tearing a ligament in his knee.
New York Jets (2015)
The New York Jets signed Curtis Brown on February 10, 2015. He was later released by the team on August 30, 2015.
Saskatchewan Roughriders (2016)
In January 2016, the Saskatchewan Roughriders signed Brown. This team plays in the Canadian Football League (CFL). However, he was cut from the team before the season began.
Personal Life
Curtis Brown's uncle, Hosea Taylor, also played professional football. Hosea Taylor played in the National Football League for the Baltimore Colts. He played for them from 1981 to 1983.
