Curtis Jamall Brown (born September 24, 1988) is a former American football player. He played as a cornerback in the National Football League (NFL). Before joining the NFL, he played college football for the Texas Longhorns. The Pittsburgh Steelers picked him in the third round of the 2011 NFL draft.

Early Life and College Football
Curtis Brown grew up playing high school football in Gilmer, Texas. He was a very talented player. He played both as a cornerback (CB) and a wide receiver (WR). In 2004, when he was a sophomore, his team won a state championship!
Many experts thought he was one of the best young players. He decided to attend the University of Texas to play college football. During his time at Texas, he made 105 tackles. He also forced 2 fumbles and caught 2 interceptions. One of his interceptions was even returned for a touchdown! In 2009, he was named an honorable mention All-American. This means he was recognized as one of the top players in college football.
Playing in the NFL
Pittsburgh Steelers
The National Football League (NFL) holds a special event each year called the NFL draft. This is where NFL teams choose new players from college. In the 2011 NFL draft, the Pittsburgh Steelers picked Curtis Brown. He was chosen in the third round, as the 95th player overall.
Brown played for the Steelers from 2011 to 2013. He played in seven games during his time there. Unfortunately, he suffered a serious injury, tearing his ACL. This is a ligament in the knee. The Steelers released him in March 2014.
New York Jets
After leaving the Steelers, Curtis Brown signed with the New York Jets on February 10, 2015. However, he was waived by the team later that year, on August 30, 2015.
Personal Life
Curtis Brown has a family connection to professional football. His uncle, Hosea Taylor, also played in the National Football League. Hosea Taylor played for the Baltimore Colts from 1981 to 1983.
