Cyril Ikechukwu Nri (born 25 April 1961) is an English actor who was born in Nigeria. He is famous for playing Superintendent Adam Okaro in the police TV show The Bill. Cyril Nri also plays Lord Danbury in the Netflix series Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story (2023).

Early Life and Training
Cyril Nri was born in Nigeria on April 25, 1961. His family are Igbo. They left Nigeria in 1968 because of the Nigerian Civil War. He moved to Portugal when he was seven years old. Later, he moved to London.
Nri went to Holland Park School in West London. He acted in a school play called Three Penny Opera. He also joined the Young Vic Youth Theatre in London. He trained to be an actor at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. Cyril Nri has lived in south London since the 1980s.
Acting Career Highlights
Cyril Nri is well-known for his role as Superintendent Adam Okaro in the long-running ITV police drama The Bill. He later became a chief superintendent in the show. He also played Graham, a lawyer, in the BBC TV series This Life.
After finishing drama school, Nri started acting at The Royal Shakespeare Company. His first role there was Lucius in Julius Caesar in 1982. He also played Ariel in The Tempest in 1988.
In 2008, he acted with other stars from The Bill in an episode of BBC1's Waking the Dead. He appeared in Law & Order UK as Judge Demarco from 2009 to 2013. In February 2010, he was a guest star in the TV show Doctors.
Nri also appeared in The Sarah Jane Adventures, a spin-off from Doctor Who. He was in the "Lost in Time" episodes in 2010. He returned for the "Sky" episode in 2011. In 2016, he appeared in another Doctor Who spin-off called Class.
From 2012 to 2013, he played Cassius in the Royal Shakespeare Company's play Julius Caesar. This play was shown in Stratford-upon-Avon, London, and New York. A reviewer from The New York Times praised his performance as Cassius.
In 2016, he was nominated for a British Academy Television Award. This was for his role as Lance in the TV series Cucumber. He also played a doctor in an episode of Goodnight Sweetheart.
In 2016, he played Polonius in a Royal Shakespeare Company production of Hamlet. In 2017, he had a small role in the BBC detective show Death in Paradise. He played a mayor in that episode. He also performed on stage in Barber Shop Chronicles.
In 2020, he played a lawyer in the BBC drama Noughts and Crosses. In 2021, he played Sheldon in the Royal National Theatre's play Trouble in Mind. Nri played Bill in the Young Vic's 2023 play Further than the Furthest Thing. Since 2024, Nri has played Derek in BBC's Daddy Issues.
