Making it to the NHL

Even though he played in 24 NHL games without scoring, King kept working hard. He scored his first NHL goal on April 4, 2007. This goal helped the Blues win 5–2 against the Phoenix Coyotes. That season, he played 27 games for the Blues. He earned two points (one goal, one assist) and had 52 penalty minutes.
Battling Injuries and Trades
The 2008–09 season was tough for King. He played only one game because of a shoulder injury. He came back for the 2009–10 season. However, he broke a finger in his first game back. This injury kept him off the ice for several months. Throughout his career, King often moved between the AHL and the NHL.
On July 28, 2010, King signed a new contract with the Blues. This was done so he could be traded to the Washington Capitals. He played for the Capitals for a couple of seasons. Later, in 2013, he signed a contract with the Ontario Reign in the ECHL.
