D. O. Lee Peak, also known as Lee Peak, is a tall mountain in Idaho. It stands at about 11,347 feet (3,459 meters) above sea level. This makes it the third-highest peak in the White Cloud Mountains. It is also the 56th-highest peak in all of Idaho.
About Lee Peak
Lee Peak is part of the beautiful White Cloud Mountains range. It was named after David Oliver Lee (1934–1982). He was from Challis and became the very first United States Forest Service ranger assigned to the Sawtooth Wilderness.
Where is Lee Peak Located?
This mountain is found in Custer County, Idaho. It is about 13 miles (21 km) southeast of a town called Stanley. Lee Peak is inside the Sawtooth National Recreation Area.
The peak is located near Calkins Peak, about 1.25 miles (2.01 km) to its south-southwest. To the west of Lee Peak, you can find several pretty lakes. These include Cirque Lake, Sapphire Lake, Cove Lake, and the Born Lakes.
