Light TV's Story
Before 2006, ZOE Broadcasting Network used to broadcast on Channel 11. They got this channel in 1998.
In 2005, ZOE Broadcasting made a deal with Citynet Network Marketing and Productions, Inc. This company is part of GMA Network, Inc.. ZOE Broadcasting let Citynet use all of Channel 11's airtime. In return, GMA Network would show ZOE-TV programs. They also helped ZOE-TV improve its broadcast tower. This agreement ended on June 4, 2019. Channel 11 then stopped broadcasting the next day.
Starting on Channel 33
ZOE Broadcasting started testing broadcasts on UHF Channel 33 in May 2006. They aired a job-finding show called Future Finder for a few hours each day. This was to get ready for a new look for DZOZ-TV.
On November 27, 2006, after many tests, the channel officially started broadcasting. It was called UniversiTV. This channel was made for college and university students. It showed programs every evening and overnight. UniversiTV stopped its agreement with Channel 33 on March 10, 2008. This was possibly because not many people were watching, and there wasn't enough advertising.
After UniversiTV left, ZOE TV had very few programs. They started showing entertainment shows in the evenings. They also had a news program in the mornings called ZTV 33. UniversiTV later became a paid TV channel but stopped completely by 2010.
Becoming Light TV
On March 1, 2011, Channel 33 changed its name to Light TV 33. This was one day after its sister station, Channel 11, became GMA News TV. Light TV 33 started showing new programs made by ZOE. It also launched its main news show called News Light.
Soon, Channel 33 had many programs again. Most of them were about religious topics. On March 31, 2014, Light TV 33 was renamed Light Network. It got a new logo and a new slogan: "Experience Light". It also kept its old slogan, "Kaibigan Mo" (Your Friend).
On February 12, 2018, Light Network changed its name back to Light TV. Its new slogan became "God's Channel of Blessings." At the same time, the channel started showing live broadcasts of JIL worship services on Sunday mornings. It also showed Jesus the Healer Friday Night Healing Services.
New Shows and Online Streaming
On March 4, 2019, Light TV launched new shows that were like radio on TV. These included Daylight Devotions, News Light sa Umaga, and Bangon na Pilipinas. Then came Edge TV. These shows can be watched online on Light TV's Facebook page. They are also broadcast on DZJV 1458 kHz radio in Laguna and DWZB 91.1 FM in Palawan. Edge TV is also streamed online on its Facebook page.
Digital TV Channels
DZOZ-TV broadcasts on UHF Channel 33. It has several digital subchannels:
Channel | Video | Aspect | Short Name | Programming | Note |

Switching to Digital
On March 1, 2017, Light Network became the first TV network in the Philippines to stop using old analog broadcasts. They completely switched to digital television. The night before, the network's chief engineer turned off Channel 33's analog signal for good. This was a big step for the country to move to all-digital TV.
The station then used the digital signal on the channel that used to be analog. However, this arrangement ended. The management decided to bring back its old main station, Channel 11. This happened one year after GMA News TV left that channel and moved to UHF 27.
