Daeg Faerch (born September 27, 1995) is an American actor and rapper. He is also known by his rap names GreatDaeg or Dnmrkboom. Daeg is famous for playing young Michael Myers in the 2007 horror movie Halloween.
He has also acted in many plays. These include Grapes of Wrath, Marat/Sade, and Waiting for Godot. Daeg has performed in several plays by Shakespeare, like Coriolanus and Hamlet. Besides English, Daeg also speaks French. He posts rap music videos on YouTube under the name "GreatDaeg". Some of his music albums are Stunt from the 6 (2018) and Vlad (2019).

Daeg Faerch was born in San Diego, California. His mother is Mickey Faerch, who is an actress. She also owned a tattoo shop.
Career
Playing Michael Myers in Halloween
As a child actor, Daeg Faerch was chosen to play young Michael Myers in the movie Halloween. He did his own stunts in the film. People really liked his acting as the young, scary Michael Myers. One reviewer said that Daeg's performance was "truly chilling". They noted how his sweet look was a big contrast to his brutal actions in the movie.
Daeg was supposed to play young Michael Myers again in the next movie, Halloween II. However, he grew much taller during that time. So, he was replaced by another actor, Chase Wright Vanek.
Other projects
Daeg Faerch also had a funny role in the 2008 movie Hancock, which starred Will Smith. Daeg played a French-American boy named Michel. In the movie, his character insults the superhero Hancock and gets thrown into the sky, but he lands safely.
His other acting jobs include the movie Sebastian, where he played the main character. He was also in the Christmas comedy Wreck the Halls with Mickey Rooney. Daeg appeared in a short film called Suffer the Little Children, which was based on a story by Stephen King. In 2008, he was in two episodes of the TV show Pushing Daisies. He also played a young man named Jesse in the short film Mental.
In 2012, Daeg had a serious head injury and needed surgery. This caused him to take a break from acting. Later, in 2014, his mother shared that he would be filming a new role. This project turned out to be the movie Ditch Party.
In 2016, Daeg had a small voice role in the movie The Accountant, starring Ben Affleck. He also appeared in the music video for the song "Fun" by the band Blondie in 2017. In 2018, Daeg acted alongside Sophie Turner in the movie Josie. More recently, he played Mitch in the TV series Euphoria in 2022.

Daeg Faerch has received praise for his acting. The Miami Herald named him the best minor character in their 2008 Movie Yearbook for his role in Hancock. HorrorNews.net also listed him as one of the Top Ten Kids in Horror movies of all time.
