History of DCH
Dah Chong Hong has a long history, starting many years ago.
Early Beginnings
- 1949: DCH was first started. It was known by two earlier names: Hang Chong Investment Company Limited and Dah Chong Hong Limited.
- 1970s: The company began its automotive business in the United States. It focused on growing into a very successful company.
Becoming Part of CITIC Pacific
- 1991: A company called CITIC Pacific bought about 34.86% of DCH. At this time, DCH was a public company, but its shares were not traded on a stock exchange.
- 1992: CITIC Pacific bought the rest of DCH. This made DCH a fully owned subsidiary of CITIC Pacific. DCH then changed from a public company to a private company. This means its shares were no longer available to the general public.
- 1994: The company officially changed its name to "Dah Chong Hong Holdings Limited".
Listing on the Stock Exchange
- 2007: Dah Chong Hong Holdings Limited became a listed company. This means its shares could be bought and sold on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.
DCH Food Mart
DCH Food Mart was a well-known food retailer in Hong Kong. It started operating in 1985.
