Daniel John Tyminski (born June 20, 1967) is an American singer and musician. He is well-known for playing and singing bluegrass music. Bluegrass is a lively style of country music. Dan is a very important member of the band Alison Krauss & Union Station.
He became very famous for his updated version of the song "Man of Constant Sorrow." This song was a big part of the movie O Brother, Where Art Thou? In 2001, the song won a top award from the CMA. It also won a Grammy Award for Best Country Collaboration with Vocals. Dan has won 14 Grammy Awards in total for his music. In 2013, he sang on the worldwide hit song "Hey Brother" with the DJ Avicii. Dan Tyminski received the Bluegrass Star Award in 2021. This award honors bluegrass artists who help keep traditional bluegrass music alive.
