Professional Basketball Career
Starting with the New Orleans Pelicans (2012–2014)
In 2012, Darius Miller was picked by the New Orleans Hornets in the 2012 NBA draft. He was the 46th player chosen overall. He signed a multi-year contract with the team in August 2012.
The Hornets changed their name to the New Orleans Pelicans in April 2013. Darius continued to play for them. He was sometimes sent to play for the Iowa Energy, a team in a different league, to get more playing time. He was called back to the Pelicans in January 2013. In November 2014, he left the Pelicans.
Playing in Germany with Brose Bamberg (2015–2017)
In February 2015, Darius moved to Germany to play for a team called Brose Bamberg. He played there for the rest of the 2014–15 season. He liked it so much that he signed to play for them for two more years.
While playing for Brose Bamberg, Darius helped them win the German basketball league championship three times in a row (2015, 2016, 2017). He was even named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the league finals in 2016. In July 2017, he decided to leave Germany to return to the NBA.
Back with the New Orleans Pelicans (2017–2020)
Darius Miller signed with the New Orleans Pelicans again in July 2017. This was his second time playing for the team. On November 13, 2017, he scored a career-high 21 points in a close game against the Atlanta Hawks.
He matched his career-high of 21 points two more times in the 2018–19 season. Once against the Minnesota Timberwolves and again against the Oklahoma City Thunder. In July 2019, he signed another two-year contract with the Pelicans. However, in August 2019, he had surgery for a serious injury to his right Achilles tendon, which kept him from playing for a while.
Time with the Oklahoma City Thunder (2020–2021)
