Darrell Reid (born June 20, 1982) is a former American football player. He mostly played as a linebacker and defensive end. He was signed by the Indianapolis Colts in 2005. He was part of the team that won Super Bowl XLI. Darrell also played for the Denver Broncos. He played college football at the University of Minnesota. Darrell grew up in Freehold Borough, New Jersey, and went to Freehold High School.

College Football Star
Darrell Reid played college football for the Minnesota Golden Gophers. He played there from 2000 to 2004. He was a starter for all four years. When he first joined, he was a linebacker. In 2001, he switched to playing defensive tackle.
During his junior year, Darrell was a top player. He led his team with 5.5 sacks. A sack is when a defensive player tackles the quarterback. In 2004, he changed positions again. He became a defensive end. He led Minnesota in sacks once more, with 7.5 sacks that year. Because of his great effort, he was named to the 2004 All-Big Ten Second-team.
Professional Football Career
Playing for the Indianapolis Colts
After college, Darrell Reid was signed by the Indianapolis Colts in 2005. He joined them as an undrafted free agent. This means he wasn't chosen in the NFL draft, but a team still wanted him. He spent some time playing as a defensive tackle. He also sometimes played as a fullback in special situations. Darrell was also an important player on the special teams. Special teams are groups of players who play during kickoffs and punts.
A big highlight of his career was winning Super Bowl XLI with the Colts. This happened in 2007. They won against the Chicago Bears.
Moving to the Denver Broncos
On February 28, 2009, Darrell Reid signed a contract with the Denver Broncos. He played for them for two seasons. He continued to play as a strong defensive player for the Broncos.
