Darrin L. Williams is an American lawyer and politician from Arkansas. He is a member of the Democratic Party. He used to be a member of the Arkansas House of Representatives, representing District 36. He could not run for re-election in 2014 because of term limits. This means there's a rule about how many times someone can serve in that job. From March 2012 to December 2012, he served as the House Speaker Pro Tempore.

Darrin Williams' Early Life and Education
Williams grew up in Little Rock, Arkansas. When he was a teenager, Bill Clinton, who was the governor of Arkansas at the time, chose him to be on a school board. This board helped decide how schools would combine.
High School and College Years
Williams went to Little Rock Central High School. He was the student body president there in 1986. After high school, he earned his first degree, a bachelor's degree, from Hendrix College.
Advanced Studies and Internships
He continued his education, earning a Master of Laws degree from Georgetown University Law Center. He also received his Juris Doctor degree from Vanderbilt University School of Law. While he was studying, Williams worked as an intern for important political figures. He interned for Bill McCuen, who was the Secretary of State of Arkansas. He also interned for David Pryor, who was a member of the United States Senate.
Darrin Williams' Career in Politics and Law
Williams gained valuable experience working in government and law. During the time Bill Clinton was President, Williams worked as a deputy director for the Democratic National Committee.
Working with Mark Pryor
He also worked closely with Mark Pryor. When Pryor was the Attorney General of Arkansas, Williams served as his chief of staff. He also worked as Pryor's deputy attorney general.
Entering the Arkansas House
In 2008, Williams decided to run for a seat in the Arkansas House of Representatives for the first time. He ran in Pulaski County.
Current Roles in Business and Government
Today, Williams is a partner at the law firm Carney Williams Bates Pulliam & Bowman. He is also the CEO of Southern Bancorp Inc., a company that helps communities. In September 2021, President Joe Biden appointed Williams to the Community Development Advisory Board. This board gives advice on how to help communities grow and develop.
