David Macklin Braby Chapman (born September 12, 1855 – died March 24, 1934) was a Canadian man who played a type of cricket called first-class cricket. He was born in a place called St. Paul's, which was part of the Red River Colony in Rupert's Land. Today, this area is part of Manitoba, Canada. He later passed away in Hailsham, England.
David Chapman's Early Life and Education
David Chapman grew up in what is now Canada. He later moved to England for his studies. He attended Corpus Christi College, Cambridge, which is a famous college at Cambridge University.
Cricket Career
While he was at Cambridge University, David Chapman played cricket for the university team. He played in two important matches in 1876 and 1877. These matches are known as first-class cricket games.

After his time at university, David Chapman chose a different path. He became a clergyman, which means he was a religious leader in the Church of England. He served as the Vicar of Tonbridge, a town in England, for many years. He held this important role from 1901 until 1931.
