Brandon David Reed (born March 22, 1987) is an American former football player. He played as a wide receiver. David played college football for the Utah Utes. The Baltimore Ravens picked him in the 2010 NFL Draft. He won Super Bowl XLVII with the Ravens. He also played one season with the Indianapolis Colts.

Early Life and High School Football
David Reed grew up in New Britain, Connecticut. He started high school at St. Paul Catholic High School. There, he played both football and basketball. Later, he moved to New Britain High School.
David then followed his coach to New London High School. He became a First-team All-Conference and All-State player. After high school, he went to Pasadena City College. He was amazing there, breaking many receiving records. In 2007, he caught 111 passes for 1,661 yards and 13 touchdowns in just 10 games. This set a national record for junior colleges. He was named a First-team Junior College All-American.
Experts like Rivals.com saw David as a top player. He was wanted by big universities like Utah, Iowa, and Kansas State.
College Football Career
David joined the Utah Utes for his college career. In his first year, he was recognized as a great kick-returner. He played in all 13 games, helping out on special teams and as a wide receiver.
He caught 25 passes for 427 yards and six touchdowns. His average of 17.1 yards per catch was the best on the team. David was part of the amazing 2008 Utes team. They had a perfect 13–0 season. They also won the 2009 Sugar Bowl against Alabama. In that big game, David caught a 28-yard touchdown pass. This helped Utah take a 28-17 lead.
In his final year at Utah, David set new school records. He had 81 catches and 1,188 receiving yards in one season. He led his conference in receiving yards per game. He was also the only player in his conference to gain over 1,000 receiving yards that year.

Baltimore Ravens
The Baltimore Ravens drafted David Reed in the fifth round of the 2010 NFL Draft. On December 13, 2010, David had a huge moment against the Houston Texans. He scored his first and only NFL touchdown. It was a 103-yard kickoff return! This return set a new record for the Ravens team. It was the longest kickoff return in their history. He also gained 233 kickoff return yards in that game. This was the second-most in Ravens history. Because of his amazing performance, David was named the AFC Special Teams Player of the Week.
In 2011, David had some challenges. In one game against the Seattle Seahawks, he fumbled two kickoff returns. One fumble happened when he ran into a teammate. The other happened when he lost his balance. In 2012, during the Ravens' championship season, David caught five passes in a game against the Bengals. The Ravens went on to win Super Bowl XLVII that season.
Indianapolis Colts
On August 21, 2013, the Baltimore Ravens traded David Reed. He went to the Indianapolis Colts in exchange for another player, Delone Carter. On November 10, 2013, David caught his first pass for the Colts. This happened in a game against the St. Louis Rams. On November 26, 2013, David was released by the Indianapolis Colts.
San Francisco 49ers
David Reed later signed with the San Francisco 49ers on January 14, 2014. However, he was released by the 49ers on August 25, 2014.
Personal Life
David Reed has a younger brother named Jordan Reed. Jordan also played professional football as a tight end. The Washington Redskins drafted Jordan in 2013.
