Brandon David Reed, born on March 22, 1987, is a former American football player. He played as a wide receiver. David Reed played college football for the Utah Utes. The Baltimore Ravens chose him in the fifth round of the 2010 NFL draft. He helped the Ravens win Super Bowl XLVII. He also played one season with the Indianapolis Colts.

Early Life and High School Football
David Reed grew up in New Britain, Connecticut. He started playing football and basketball at St. Paul Catholic High School. After his first year, he moved to New Britain High School. Later, he followed his coach to New London High School. There, he was named First-team All-Conference and All-State.
College Success at Pasadena City College
After high school, David Reed attended Pasadena City College. He was an amazing receiver there. In 2007, he caught 111 passes for 1,661 yards and 13 touchdowns in just 10 games. This set a national record for junior colleges. He was recognized as First-team All-Conference and First-team Junior College Gridwire All-American.
College Career at Utah
David Reed joined the Utah Utes for his college career.
First Season with the Utah Utes
In his first year at Utah, Reed was a great kick-returner. He played in all 13 games. He was part of the special teams and also a wide receiver. He caught 25 passes for 427 yards. He also scored six touchdowns, which was second-highest on the team. Reed helped the 2008 Utes have a perfect 13–0 season. They won the 2009 Sugar Bowl against Alabama 31–17. In that game, Reed caught a 28-yard touchdown pass.
Record-Breaking Senior Year
As a senior, Reed set new school records for catches and receiving yards in one season. He had 81 catches and 1,188 receiving yards. He led the Mountain West Conference in both categories. He was the only player in the conference to gain over 1,000 receiving yards that year.

David Reed was drafted into the NFL in 2010.
Joining the Baltimore Ravens
The Baltimore Ravens drafted David Reed in the fifth round of the 2010 NFL Draft.
First NFL Touchdown
On December 13, 2010, David Reed scored his first and only NFL touchdown. It was a 103-yard kickoff return against the Houston Texans. This return set a new record for the Ravens team. His 233 kickoff return yards in that game were also the second most in team history. For his great play, Reed was named AFC Special Teams Player of the Week.
Later Seasons with the Ravens
In 2011, Reed played in Week 10 against the Seattle Seahawks. He caught five passes during a game in 2012. That year, the Ravens won the Super Bowl.
Time with the Indianapolis Colts
On August 21, 2013, the Baltimore Ravens traded David Reed to the Indianapolis Colts. He caught his first pass for the Colts on November 10, 2013. This was during a game against the St. Louis Rams. On November 26, 2013, the Colts released Reed.
Brief Time with the San Francisco 49ers
David Reed signed with the San Francisco 49ers on January 14, 2014. He was released by the 49ers on August 25, 2014.
Personal Life
David Reed is the older brother of Jordan Reed. Jordan Reed was also a professional football player. He played as a tight end and was drafted by the Washington Redskins in 2013.
