The Dazemard River is a river in Quebec, Canada. It flows into the Wetetnagami River. The Dazemard River is about 30.0 km (18.6 mi) long. It is located in the Abitibi-Témiscamingue region.

The river flows through an area called Senneterre. This area is part of the La Vallée-de-l'Or Regional County Municipality. The main activities here are forestry and outdoor tourism.

A forest road, R1015, runs near the Dazemard River. This road helps people get around the area. The river is usually frozen from early November until mid-May. It's safe to travel on the ice from mid-November to mid-April.

Where the River Flows

The Dazemard River starts from Betty Lake. This lake is in a place called Souart township. Betty Lake is about 391 m (1,283 ft) above sea level.

From Betty Lake, the Dazemard River flows generally north. It passes through Altherr Lake and Albert Lake. These lakes are also quite high up. After flowing through these lakes, the river winds its way northwest.

Finally, the Dazemard River joins the Wetetnagami River. The Wetetnagami River then flows north into Nicobi Lake. From Nicobi Lake, the water travels through several other rivers. It goes into the Nicobi River, then the Opawica River.

The Opawica River meets the Chibougamau River. This meeting point forms the Waswanipi River. The Waswanipi River flows west through big lakes like lake Waswanipi, Goéland Lake, and Olga Lake.

Eventually, the water reaches Lake Matagami. From there, it flows into the Nottaway River. The Nottaway River is a large river that empties into Rupert Bay. Rupert Bay is part of James Bay, which is a large body of water connected to the Hudson Bay. So, the water from the Dazemard River travels a long way to reach James Bay!
