Debenham is a charming village located in Suffolk, England. It's about 11 kilometers (7 miles) north of Ipswich. The River Deben actually starts right here in the village! The river even flows through a special crossing called a ford.
Long ago, in 1086, Debenham was already a fairly large village. It had 69 households at that time. By 2011, the population of Debenham, including nearby villages like Aspall and Winston, grew to 2,210 people. Today, even more people call Debenham home!
In 1991, something quite unique happened in the village. Prince Alexandre of Belgium got married here! The marriage was kept a secret for several years until 1998. More recently, in November 2020, a thriller movie called Confession began filming at Debenham Church. The film stars the well-known actor Colm Meaney.
