Delhi is located in the northern part of Merced County. It is found at coordinates 37°25′56″N 120°46′43″W. The Merced River flows northwest of Delhi, separating it from Livingston.
Other nearby towns include Hilmar to the west. Turlock is to the north, and Ballico is to the east. The total land area of Delhi is about 3.5 square miles (9.1 square kilometers).

History of Delhi
Delhi has a short but interesting history. The first post office in Delhi opened in 1912. It closed for a short time in 1918 but then reopened in 1920.
A Church from the World's Fair
One unique building in Delhi is the New Beginnings Christian Center. This church building was first built for the 1939 World's Fair in San Francisco. After the fair, the plan was to tear it down.
However, Enoch Christoffersen, who was a mayor of Turlock, thought the church was too nice to be destroyed. So, he bought the building. It was taken apart and shipped by train to Delhi. Then, it was put back together at its current spot at 9711 N. Stephens Street.
