His Photography Studio

Around 1857, Barnum had a special photography studio in Boston. It was located on Winter Street. In his studio, he created daguerreotypes. A daguerreotype was an early type of photograph. It was made on a shiny silver-plated copper sheet. By 1858, he moved his studio to Commercial Street in Boston.

Life and Work

From 1856 to 1860, Deloss Barnum lived in a place called Roxbury. He was part of an important event in 1860. This was an exhibition held by the Massachusetts Charitable Mechanic Association. This group helped promote skills and crafts. Being part of their exhibition showed his work was recognized.

Different Names

During his career, Deloss Barnum was sometimes called by slightly different names. These included D. Barnum, Deblois Barnum, Delos Barnum, and DeLos Barnum. No matter the name, he was the same skilled photographer. He died on October 7, 1873, in Cortland, New York.
