There was also a facility that produced evaporated milk. Another important business was a tannery, which processed animal hides into leather.

A well-known person named Henry Warner Slocum was born near Delphi Falls. He lived from 1827 to 1894. Henry Slocum became a very important military leader. He graduated from the United States Military Academy in 1852. During the American Civil War, he served as a Major General. He commanded large groups of soldiers, known as corps.
