On July 20, 1864, Denis Buckley showed great courage. This happened during the Battle of Peachtree Creek. The battle took place in Georgia. For his bravery, he was given the Medal of Honor. This special award was given to him on April 7, 1865. It is the highest award for bravery in the United States.
