DeVon "Devo" Harris (born December 9, 1977) is an American record producer, songwriter, and DJ. He is also known as Devo Springsteen. Devo Harris is a cousin of the famous rapper Kanye West.
Harris helped singer John Legend join West's music label, GOOD Music, in 2003. He worked a lot on Legend's first album, Get Lifted (2004). Devo Harris also helped create music for many other artists. These include Nas, Britney Spears, and Aretha Franklin. In 2006, he won a Grammy Award for his work on Kanye West's song "Diamonds from Sierra Leone".
Devo Harris studied Economics at the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. Later, he earned a business degree from Columbia Business School in 2011. After that, he started focusing on technology and media.

Harris grew up in both the U.S. and Germany. His parents were in the U.S. Army. He finished high school in Kansas City, Missouri. Then, he went to the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. At college, he played sports like wrestling and football. He also worked as a DJ at local radio stations.
After college, Harris moved to New York City in 2000. He lived with his college roommate, John Legend. While working in finance, he also helped out at G.O.O.D. Music. He helped find new artists for the company. In 2003, he signed John Legend to the label. Harris then helped manage Legend's music projects.

Devo Harris has been inspired by many great musicians. Some of his influences include Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, and Dr. Dre. He has appeared on TV channels like MTV Base and BET. He also worked as a guest DJ on BET's Rap City. Harris has DJ'd in many countries, from Turkey to Japan.
Harris also helped write songs for Britney Spears. These songs, "Lullaby" and "Let's Go," were on a demo version of her album Blackout.
In 2008, Harris worked with John Legend on the song "If You're Out There." This song was part of John Legend's album Evolver. It was used as a theme song for Barack Obama's presidential campaign. John Legend performed it at a big political event in 2008.
Devo Harris in Technology
In 2010, Harris created a special music video. It was for the band Riot In Paris and was called "Attack of the 5 foot Hipster." This video was interactive, meaning viewers could choose what happened next. It was one of the first of its kind in the U.S.
After finishing business school in 2011, Harris started learning to code. He then launched his own company, Red Ochre Inc., in 2014. Later, he became a Senior Product Manager at Vimeo, a popular video website.
In 2020, Harris launched Adventr. This is an interactive streaming platform. In 2021, Adventr was a finalist at a big technology conference. The company also announced that it had a patent for voice-controlled interactive media.
