Early Life
Devon Hall was born on July 7, 1995. His parents are Leslie Guidry and Mark Hall. He also has an older brother named Mark Jr. Devon grew up in Virginia Beach, Virginia, and went to Cape Henry Collegiate School. He chose to attend the University of Virginia for college because he liked that it had a high graduation rate for African-American students.
College Basketball
When Devon first started at the University of Virginia, he "redshirted" his freshman year. This means he practiced with the team but didn't play in official games. It was a bit tough for him because he really wanted to play and make a difference right away.
In his first year playing, he was on the court for about 10 minutes per game. Over his first three seasons, he averaged around 5.2 points per game. But in his senior year, Devon really shined! He averaged 11.9 points and 4.3 rebounds per game. He was also very good at shooting from long range, making 44.3% of his three-point shots. His team, the Virginia Cavaliers, was ranked number one in the country that year.
On January 14, 2018, Devon had his best game, scoring 25 points against NC State. Because of his great performance, he was chosen for the second-team All-ACC in 2017–18. After college, he also played well in the 2018 Portsmouth Invitational Tournament.
Professional Basketball Journey
Devon Hall started his professional basketball career after being picked in the 2018 NBA draft. He has played for several teams in different leagues, both in the United States and overseas.
Starting with the Taipans
In 2018, the Oklahoma City Thunder picked Devon as the 53rd player in the NBA draft. After playing for the Thunder in the 2018 NBA Summer League, he signed with the Cairns Taipans in Australia for the 2018–19 NBL season. This was his first professional team.
Time with Oklahoma City Blue
After playing in Australia, Devon joined the Oklahoma City Blue in the NBA G League in February 2019. He played for them for a while, even returning to the team later in December 2019. In one game in January 2020, he scored 26 points, showing his skills. He started 30 games for the Blue, averaging 15.6 points per game.
Playing for the Thunder
Devon also had a chance to play for the Oklahoma City Thunder in the NBA. He signed a special "two-way contract" with them in September 2019. This type of contract allows players to switch between an NBA team and its G League team. He played a few games for the Thunder before returning to the Oklahoma City Blue. He signed with the Thunder again in June 2020.
Moving to Europe
In October 2020, Devon decided to play basketball in Europe. He signed with Brose Bamberg in Germany. After playing there for a season, he moved to Italy. In June 2021, he joined Olimpia Milano, a big team that plays in the Lega Basket Serie A (LBA) and the Euroleague. He played for Olimpia Milano for three seasons, from 2021 to 2024.
Joining Fenerbahçe Beko
In June 2024, Devon Hall signed with Fenerbahçe Beko. This is a well-known team in Turkey that also plays in the Basketbol Süper Ligi (BSL) and the Euroleague. He continues his professional career with them.
