Deworski Odom (born April 11, 1977) is a former American sprinter. He was known for running very fast in short races, like the 100 metres. When he was just 17 years old, he won a bronze medal in the 100 metres race. This happened at the 1994 World Junior Championships. He even set a new record for young athletes at that time!

Deworski Odom's Early Life
Deworski Odom was born in Cordele, Georgia. His mother, Lessie Odom, was 16 when he was born. When Deworski was four years old, his family moved to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Starting His Running Journey
Deworski first started running in sixth grade. He went to Shoemaker Middle School. Later, he attended Overbrook High School. He became a very talented runner there.
High School Achievements
In 1995, Deworski competed in the National Scholastic Indoor Track and Field Championships. This big event took place in Syracuse, New York. At this competition, Deworski Odom set three new national records! This showed how fast and skilled he was.
College and Professional Path
Many top college running programs wanted Deworski to join their teams. However, he faced some challenges with his school grades. This meant he could not go straight to a major university.
Finding His Way
Deworski first went to Wallace State Community College in Hanceville, Alabama. After that, he attended St. Augustine's University in Raleigh, North Carolina. He ran for one season there. Then, he decided to become a professional runner.
Coaching Today
As of 2017, Deworski Odom is still involved in track and field. He works as a track and field coach. He coaches at his old high school, Overbrook High School, in Philadelphia. He helps young athletes learn and grow, just like he did.
