Dexter Alexander Davis (born November 10, 1986) is a former American football player. He played as a defensive end in the National Football League (NFL) and the Canadian Football League (CFL). He was chosen by the Seattle Seahawks in the 2010 NFL Draft. Before playing professionally, he played college football at Arizona State University.

Star Player at Arizona State
Dexter Davis went to Arizona State University for college. He was a very important player for their football team, the Arizona State Sun Devils. He started a school record 50 games during his time there. This means he played in the starting lineup for almost every game.
He was also great at tackling the quarterback. He finished third on the school's all-time list for "sacks." A sack is when a defensive player tackles the quarterback behind the line of scrimmage. He had 31 sacks in his college career. He also made 136 tackles and caused 10 fumbles.
Professional Football Career
Joining the Seattle Seahawks
The Seattle Seahawks picked Dexter Davis in the seventh round of the 2010 NFL Draft. He was the 236th player chosen overall. The Seahawks officially signed him on June 19, 2010.
He quickly showed his skills. In his first pre-season game in 2010, he got a sack against the Tennessee Titans. The next week, playing against Green Bay, he got another sack. This sack also caused a fumble, which he was able to recover.
Davis was released by the Seahawks on April 17, 2013. This made him a free agent, meaning he could sign with any team.
Playing in Canada
On June 6, 2014, Dexter Davis signed with the Toronto Argonauts. This team plays in the Canadian Football League (CFL).
He played for the Argonauts for a season. On June 11, 2015, the Argonauts announced that Davis had retired from football.
