About Dietzenbach
Where is Dietzenbach?
Dietzenbach is in the Rhine-Main area. This is a busy region about 25 kilometers (15 miles) southeast of Frankfurt. The city covers an area of 21.67 square kilometers (8.37 sq mi). It sits 135 meters (443 feet) above sea level. The land here is mostly flat, with hardly any hills.
Millions of years ago, about 35 to 20 million years ago, this whole area was under the sea. It was a warm, shallow ocean. Over time, lots of sand and mud settled at the bottom. Later, the land rose, and the water left. This left behind soil that is mostly sandy and not very rich for farming.
Parts of the City
Dietzenbach is made up of several parts, or urban districts. These include Neue Stadtmitte, Spessartviertel, Altstadt (Old Town), Steinberg, Hexenberg, and Wingertsberg.

Local Language
Some local people in Dietzenbach speak a special way of German. It is a Hessian dialect (called Hessisch in German). This dialect has a unique sound and some special words. It is spoken in the southern part of Hesse. Long ago, almost every town had its own dialect. These could be hard for people from other areas to understand. Today, fewer people speak the old dialect. Most people speak regular German, but with a local accent.
History of Dietzenbach
The name Dietzenbach first appeared in a written document in the 13th century. This was a very long time ago!
In the past, most people in Dietzenbach were farmers or craftsmen. They were not usually involved in trade. Each family owned land to grow their own food. When the land was passed down to the next generation, it was often divided among the children. This meant that many families had only small farms and were not very rich.
Later, the Industrial Revolution changed things. Many factories were built in the Rhine-Main area. This region became a center for working with metal, making leather goods, and creating chemicals. Many men found jobs in these factories. They earned money, which helped to improve their lives.
