Din Djarin facts for kids
Din Djarin, also known as The Mandalorian, is a brave bounty hunter in the Star Wars universe. He is the main character of the TV show The Mandalorian.
The Mandalorian was first hired by a group connected to the old Galactic Empire. His job was to capture a mysterious and special child named Grogu, also known as "The Child." But instead of giving Grogu to the Empire, Din Djarin decided to protect him.
Din Djarin follows strict rules from his people, the Mandalorians. One of the most important rules is that he must never take off his helmet in front of others. Because of this, he is often called "Mando."
Mando and Grogu go on many exciting adventures together. They meet new friends and face dangerous enemies.
Protecting Grogu
In their first adventures, Din Djarin helps protect a village. He works with Cara Dune, who used to be a soldier for the Rebel Alliance. Later, an old boss named Greef Karga tells Mando that the Empire has taken over his town. Greef promises to stop hunting Grogu if Mando helps him fight the Imperials.
Mando, Cara Dune, Kuiil, and IG-11 team up to take back the town. But they are ambushed by Moff Gideon, a powerful Imperial leader. Moff Gideon has many soldiers. He traps Mando and captures Grogu. Sadly, Kuiil is killed trying to protect Grogu.
However, IG-11 bravely saves Grogu. A big fight then happens between Mando, Greef, Cara, IG-11, and the Imperial forces. They try to get help from other Mandalorians hidden in tunnels under the town. They only find one Mandalorian, The Armorer. She tells Mando that his new mission is to take Grogu to other members of his own kind. IG-11 sacrifices himself so the others can escape and fight Moff Gideon.
The Search for Jedi
With his new mission, Din Djarin learns that another Mandalorian on Tatooine might help him find a Jedi for Grogu. But first, Mando needs to get their armor back. He finds a marshal named Cobb Vanth wearing the armor. Cobb Vanth is not a Mandalorian, but they make a deal for the armor.
As Mando rides away, Boba Fett watches him. Boba Fett was thought to be dead, and he wants his armor back. Mando does not know that he has Boba Fett's armor.
Mando then travels to another planet after helping a creature called the Frog Lady. She promised him information. Din goes on a mission with a Mandalorian named Bo-Katan Kryze. She tells him to find Ahsoka Tano.
Mando finds Ahsoka. She tells him Grogu's real name and some of his past. Mando helps her with a mission. But Ahsoka refuses to train Grogu. She tells Din Djarin to place Grogu on a special "seeing stone." There, Grogu will choose his own path.
A New Hope
When Mando and Grogu go to the seeing stone, another bounty hunter arrives. It is Boba Fett, who has been tracking them to get his armor back. Mando agrees to give Boba his armor. In return, Boba and his friend Fennec Shand agree to help protect Grogu from the Empire.
But they fail, and the Empire captures Grogu. Before being taken, Grogu sends out a call to any surviving Jedi using The Force. Mando, Boba, and Fennec recruit Cara Dune to help get Grogu back. They find Moff Gideon's spaceship and head off to fight him, with help from Bo-Katan.
They face strong resistance when they attack the ship. Mando fights Moff Gideon in a duel to get Grogu back. They are eventually cornered by elite Imperial soldiers. Suddenly, a single X-Wing starfighter appears. Grogu reaches for the screen as a dark figure with a green lightsaber cuts down the soldiers.
Luke Skywalker arrives and tells them he has come for Grogu. He will train Grogu to be a Jedi. Grogu and Din Djarin share an emotional goodbye before Grogu leaves with Luke.
