Dion Adrian Lambert (born February 12, 1969) is a former American professional football player. He played as a defensive back. This position helps stop the other team from scoring. Dion played for three seasons in the National Football League (NFL). He was a player for the New England Patriots and the Seattle Seahawks.
The Patriots picked him in the fourth round of the 1992 NFL draft. Before that, he played college football at the University of California, Los Angeles. Lambert also played for the Amsterdam Admirals. This team was part of the World League of American Football (WLAF).
Growing Up and College Football
Dion Adrian Lambert was born on February 12, 1969. He grew up in Lake View Terrace, California. For high school, he went to John F. Kennedy High School. This school is in Los Angeles, California.
After high school, Dion played college football. He joined the UCLA Bruins team. He was on their freshman team in 1987. From 1988 to 1991, he was a four-year letterman. This means he played well enough to earn a special award. During his college years, he made one interception in 1989. He also made another interception in 1990.
Playing in the NFL
The New England Patriots chose Dion Lambert in the 1992 NFL draft. He was the 90th player picked overall. He officially joined the team on July 25. In 1992, he played in all 16 games for the Patriots. He made 23 tackles and one sack. He also recovered one fumble.
In 1993, Lambert played in 14 games. He started four of those games. He had 28 tackles and one interception. He also recovered another fumble. The Patriots released him on August 28, 1994.
Later in 1994, Lambert signed with the Seattle Seahawks. He joined them on December 20. He played in one game for the Seahawks that year. He started that game and made five solo tackles. He also had one assisted tackle. The Seahawks released him on September 6, 1995.
In 1997, Lambert played for the Amsterdam Admirals. This team was part of the World League of American Football (WLAF).
Life After Football
After his playing career, Dion Lambert became a coach. He coached high school football.
