This division was created in 1984. It is named after Frank Forde. He was a very important person who was the Prime Minister of Australia for a short time in 1945.

It also covers parts of Daisy Hill, Heritage Park, Loganlea, Munruben, Ormeau, Park Ridge South, and Shailer Park.
