Dola Banerjee (born June 2, 1980) is a famous Indian archer. She has won many medals for her country. Dola is known for her amazing skills in archery, a sport where you shoot arrows at a target. She has competed in some of the biggest sports events in the world.

Early Life
Dola Banerjee was born in Baranagar, near Kolkata. Her parents are Ashok and Kalpana Banerjee. She went to Baranagar Rajkumari Memorial Girls High School.
Dola started archery at the Baranagar Archery Club when she was just eight years old. She first competed internationally at the Youth World Championship in San Diego in 1996. At that time, she was only 16 years old.
Archery Career
Dola Banerjee has been a regular member of the Indian women's archery team for many years. She has represented India in over 50 international competitions. These include two Olympic Games, three Asian Games, and the Commonwealth Games.
She has won many medals for India. This includes more than 16 gold, 3 silver, and 8 bronze medals.
Olympic Games
Dola represented India at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, Greece. She finished 13th in the individual ranking round. She was also part of the Indian women's archery team that finished 8th.
She also competed in the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Dola took part in both the individual and team events. In the team event, she played with Pranitha Vardhineni and Bombayala Devi. They reached the quarterfinals but lost to China.
World Cup Success
In August 2007, Dola Banerjee won a gold medal at the Meteksan World Cup archery event in England. This win helped her qualify for the World Cup final.
Later that year, in November 2007, Dola became a world champion in archery. She won the gold medal in the women's individual recurve competition at the Archery World Cup final in Dubai. This was a huge achievement for her and for India.
Commonwealth Games 2010
At the 2010 Commonwealth Games in New Delhi, Dola Banerjee won two medals. She won a gold medal in the women's team recurve event. Her teammates were Deepika Kumari and L Bombayala Devi.
She also won a bronze medal in the individual recurve event at the same games.
National Achievements
Dola Banerjee has also achieved great success at the national level in India. She has won over 52 gold, 21 silver, and 8 bronze medals in national competitions.
She was especially dominant at the Junior National Level. She won 19 gold, 5 silver, and 6 bronze medals there.
Awards and Other Roles
In 2005, Dola Banerjee received the Arjuna award from the Government of India. This is a very special award given to athletes for their excellent performance in sports. She was the second woman archer to receive this honor.
Dola has also been involved in sports development. She was a member of the Sports Development body of the West Bengal Government. She also helped with the Steering Committee for Youth Affairs and Sports for the Twelfth Five Year Plan.
